Release date


Hello! it's been a while. I've been hard at work on the game and, well,  I finally feel like I'm close to putting out a new release. I'm aiming for within the first week of June, but it should be out sometime within June at the latest. At this point, I only really have to put the finishing touches on things so I'm really happy.

Once I put out the update, I'm planning to write up a changelog, so that's where you'll be able to see all the changes I've made!

But I would like to take some time now to go into the more gooey feely bits of how this update came to be and some of the struggles I've faced with it. It ended up being a lot more work than I anticipated, which is fairly standard for game dev I suppose. I initially wanted to clean some stuff up, change some things around, and get things sorted out for future releases. Because of that I put my head down and just plowed forward stubbornly, something I do well.

Unfortunately because of a lot of factors things didn't go how I anticipated, and even now I am frustrated because I took a lot of time, and I wish that by now I was much further ahead than I am. Despite that though I am very proud of the work I've done, and in certain respects I'm further ahead than I thought I'd be. It's been a very confusing, stressful and lopsided development cycle, but at the end of the day I got through it, and I'm doing some things that have me genuinely excited, and that I haven't really seen from many other games.

I'm hopeful that with this update it will bring what I envision for this game one step closer to being realized, and that maybe those that play the game will understand more the scale and scope of what I want the game to be. But it has also made me realize that the things that I want to do are complicated and tedious, and that it will take time to truly setup everything I want this game to be.

I'm looking forward to finally publishing a new release, but truthfully I'm already anxious to get to work on the release after that.
